Snacklandia is a large scale collage work of snacks and beverage wrappers representing a naive landscape. I made the work originally as a billboard set for the performance of Appalachian Spring by Shua Group during a dance residency at Rutgers University.
I made later a smaller version which was displayed at Shuaspace with a print out of a research on all the ingredients found in the products.
Snacklandia is a literal landscape of products that surrounds our life and that we chose to buy. The catchy colorful and shiny envelopes to the junk food are beautiful when assemble together but scary when you google their ingredients.
AWARDS: Ready or Not 2014 New Jersey Arts Biennial at the Newark Museum.
