ENVIRONMENTAL INVESTIGATION PERFORMANCE (2011)
Description
Originally created on a polluted industrial site of downtown Jersey City. With NYC in the background the performance site subject to a NJDEP "environmental investigation" as a means of giving clearance for real estate development. The performance space itself is a slab of a demolished warehouse. It has been claimed by teenage skaters and bikers who have transformed it into a play site and built beautiful beautiful concrete structures. Environmental Investigation honors and promotes the existence of this young creative and anarchic site through the ritual of theater, and, at the same time, fixes itself on the ubiquitous object of contemporary pollution.
